Bunker Hill Tower Lobby Desk ModelingRicardo Gallopp2019-11-21T16:11:20+00:00
Our client requested us to improve the look of a lobby desk. The desk wasn’t blending with the decoration, mainly because the electronics were standing out. The job was to redesign the front desk edges to hide the front monitors.
Our goal was to create a 3D model of the desk to reshape its edges. This new look will be able to conceal monitors when looking from the front while keeping a modern and attractive design.
After the redesign, we imported the model into Lumion and created a simple stage to visualize the desk in the lobby, and then proceeded to export and send the final construction drawings to our client.
We follow a structured end-to-end process that ensures the best results for our clients.
Convert CAD to 3D Model
Using the 2D isometric drawings and pictures of the site, we generated a 3D model with the right dimensions, colors, and textures requested by our client. The 3D model allowed us to identify the right shape and design to hide the monitors while maintaining desk functionality.
3D Modeling (SketchUp)
The object was meant to keep its original characteristics, so we focused on covering the monitors and making space for any electronic component. Our 3D model allowed us to perceive all visual angles and outcomes before proceeding to render the object.
3D Rendering & Post-Production
Once we reviewed our final model, we proceeded to render the object. Lumion is a powerful rendering engine, which allowed us to create a virtual stage to appreciate a full realistic view of the finish desk. Finally, our team added some post-production editing in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Drawings and Specs (Revit)
After our client approved our final render, we proceeded to create the construction drawings in Autodesk Revit. We added all the necessary specs and annotations, as well as the visual representation of the desk we did in Lumion..
